Namecheap and Hostinger list credit and debit cards and don't mention prepaid cards, and GoDaddy's help includes prepaid cards. Cloudflare warns prepaid cards may be declined. If a renewal fails

What happens to your domain

Most registrars give you time, but getting a domain back gets expensive. Pick your registrar.

Reload a month early. Because domains are charged about 30 days before they expire, a card that's empty on the expiry date has usually already missed the renewal.

FAQ

Questions about paying for hosting and domains

Contact support
Can I buy a domain with a prepaid virtual card?

At many registrars, yes: Qwikvcc customers pay Namecheap and Hostinger with these cards. Namecheap and Hostinger list credit and debit cards and don't mention prepaid cards, and GoDaddy's help includes prepaid cards. Cloudflare warns prepaid cards may be declined. Each provider decides when you pay.

Which hosting providers don't accept prepaid cards?

DigitalOcean says it doesn't accept virtual, electron or prepaid cards, and Vercel lists prepaid cards as an invalid payment method. Don't use a prepaid card with them.

When is a domain renewal charged?

Usually before the expiry date: about 30 days before at Namecheap and Cloudflare, and 27 days before for domains at Hostinger. GoDaddy charges on the expiry date. Keep the card topped up a month ahead.

What happens if my domain renewal fails?

Most registrars give a grace period of about 30 days at the normal price, then a redemption period where getting the domain back costs much more, and then the domain is deleted. Hostinger's restore fee starts at $80.

Can I pay my host with crypto directly?

Some providers take crypto. Namecheap adds crypto to your account balance, which can pay auto-renewals. Hostinger takes crypto but doesn't refund crypto payments and needs a card or PayPal for auto-renewal. A Qwikvcc card bought with crypto works where cards are needed.

Should I use my real details for the domain?

Yes. Registrars require accurate contact details for every domain. Use privacy protection if you don't want them published, but never enter false information.

Is there a monthly fee for the card?

No. Each Qwikvcc card has a one-time price shown on its page, with no monthly fee for keeping it on file for renewals.
